On Sunday, December 6th, Soh Daiko will have the honor of performing in Luminosity, a concert organized by Musica Viva NY. We will be joined on stage by the Musica Viva NY choir, Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez—conductor and piano, Trent Johnson—organ, and Sathvi Ramaseshan—viola. Additionally, Soh Daiko is proud to be a part of the world premiere of The Radiant Ground, a piece written by Richard Einhorn, with whom we have had the pleasure of collaborating over the past year as we prepare for Luminosity. We invite you for an evening of transcendent music and hope that you will join us for this rare performance.

Pre-concert talk at 4:15pm. Tickets include post-concert wine and cheese reception with artists.
From the Musica Viva NY website: “Luminosity explores light in its many forms—celestial, spiritual, and deeply human. Spanning nearly nine centuries, this program journeys from the mystical visions of Hildegard von Bingen and the meditative stillness of Arvo Pärt to contemporary reflections on dawn, hope, and transcendence by Joanna Marsh and James MacMillan. At its heart are James Whitbourn’s luminous meditation Luminosity and the world premiere of Richard Einhorn’s The Radiant Ground, commissioned by Musica Viva NY for choir, four trombones, and taiko drums. Together, these works invite us to experience light as a source of wonder, renewal, and connection.”
