This past Sunday, community members, Soh Daiko alumni, friends, and family braved the brisk NYC winds to join us for our autumn recital. It is an honor and a privilege to perform for those closest to us, and we are truly appreciative of their continued support. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a resounding success! Over the coming months, we will continue to push ourselves further and grow even more as a team, so we look forward to sharing our music and spirit with you again soon.

Soh Daiko will join our sister taiko group Hoh Daiko once again in Seabrook, NJ for Seabrook Buddhist Temple’s 80th annual Obon Festival. We hope you can join us for a wonderful evening of dancing, drumming, and friendship!
Obon is an annual Buddhist event intended to honor one’s ancestors. During this time, it is believed that the spirits of our ancestors return to this world to visit their relatives. Traditionally, lanterns (“obon,” in Japanese) are hung in front of one’s home to guide the spirits along their way.
