CELEBRASIAN!

Soh Daiko will be returning for the 40th Annual Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Festival in Chinatown on Sunday, May 19th! Join us at 11:00 am for a set of some of our favorite summer festival pieces.

This year’s festival honors Suki Terada Ports, Aiyong Choi, and adhikaar – the only women-led worker and community center serving and organizing the Nepali-speaking immigrant and refugee community. Learn more about these Honorees on the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans website.

Location:
The festival runs on Mott St., south of Canal.
The performance space is located on the corner of Bayard and Mott.

Retrieved from facebook.com:
New York’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Celebration is the nation’s longest running festival celebrating Asian diversity and participation in community events. It is presented in collaboration with 120+ community organizations.

Last year’s festival reached an audience of over 23,000 people and we anticipate an even larger audience due to the 40th anniversary celebration. There are 1.23 million Asian American Pacific Islanders in New York City, comprising 15% of the City’s population and is the fastest growing ethnic group.

Join us for a day of performances, culture, and celebration of AAPI heroes.
