Interested in becoming a member of Soh Daiko? Sign up for one of the two public recruitment workshops this October and see if you have what it takes! All experience levels are welcome. We’ll provide everything you need to play – just bring yourself and comfortable, flexible clothing.

The workshop will include a brief history of Japanese drumming, an introduction to taiko fundamentals, demonstrations, and guided exercises. As we are a performing group, we will ask participants to demonstrate what they learn at the end of the workshop, and submit a self-made video the following week for assessment. Selected recruits will be contacted by the end of October to join the year-long training program. Please note that Soh Daiko rehearses on Thursdays 7:00-9:00pm and Saturdays 2:00-7:00pm . In order to be considered for membership, you must be available during our regular rehearsal times.

Attendance is only required at one of the following recruitment sessions to be considered for entry into our trainee program.

Session 1: Saturday, October 2nd from 2pm – 6pm

Session 2: Saturday, October 9th from 2pm – 6pm

NOTE: We will start promptly at 2pm, please arrive on time!
