The East Coast Taiko Conference is a gathering of all levels of taiko players to celebrate their love for taiko. Through the sharing of diverse skills and styles both inside and outside professional workshops, the conference serves as a place of learning and strengthening of bonds within the East Coast taiko community.

The conference itself was started in 2011, hosted by Yamatai at Cornell University. Over 100 students from taiko teams across the region’s universities congregated for a weekend of taiko workshops, discussion sessions, and performances. Since then, ECTC has been hosted by Kaze at Wesleyan University (2012), Gendo Taiko at Brown University (2013), Skidaiko at Skidmore College (2014), and Yamatai again at Cornell University (2015).
